As DC Comics social media Agency of Record, we revamped DC's social media strategy and creative to immerse both super fans and casual audiences in the DC Universe. Through our integrated approach by producing animated recaps, engaging in social trends, and creating platform-tailored content, while actively participating in holidays and events. This made the DC brand more inclusive and significantly boosted engagement across various social media platforms. In launching their TikTok channel, we created original motion capture content of our favorite superheroes responding to trends and social chatter, that then prompted fans to stitch their own reenactments. Our innovative and engaging approach to social media not only skyrocketed their engagement rates but also won them both the Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice Webby Awards in the General Social Entertainment category. By creating platform-specific content that appealed to both core and casual fans, we achieved remarkable increases in average post engagement when we took over, with a surge of 76% on Facebook, 59% on Instagram, and 12% on Twitter, and had even greater growth success taking on the accounts for both DCKids and DC Super Hero Girls, the brand’s younger-skewing accounts. Our reach with the DC brand encompassed everything from their brand socials, to their original theatrical and television content (and the launch of DCUniverse), all the way to their product division, creating photoshoots for their action figure lines and Visa credit card sponsorship.
